Bank feeds for BriefcaseOne

Connect a bank account to BriefcaseOne to automatically pull in transactions, extract merchants, predict the business, categorise, and reconcile or cash code on autopilot.

Bank feeds for BriefcaseOne

BriefcaseOne now supports connecting a bank account to automatically pull in transactions from a selected time range.

When a bank transaction is retrieved, Briefcase runs:

  • Merchant extraction
  • Business prediction - Briefcase predicts which business the transaction belongs to (applies when the individual has more than one sole trade, UK property, or foreign property)
  • Categorisation
  • Tax rate prediction

Once the essential information is extracted, Briefcase considers two options for posting the transaction to the general ledger.

First, it tries to find a matching invoice (cross-currency reconciliation is supported). If a match is found and all AI autopilot checks pass, Briefcase automatically reconciles the transaction.

If no invoice match is found and Briefcase has learned that you consistently cash code similar transactions, it will cash code this one automatically.

To connect a bank feed, go to Bank → Add bank → Connect bank feed.

You can choose from 82 UK institutions. Once connected, Briefcase fetches all transactions within the selected time range, then pulls new ones every 6 hours.

Consent to pull transactions lasts 90 days. 10 days before it expires, you'll be asked to reconfirm whether you'd like to grant another 90 days.
