Bank statement extraction and more
Automated bank statement detection and extraction, plus mark invoices as prepayments and email content visibility.
Bank statement extraction
Briefcase now automatically detects and extracts data from bank statement PDFs and images. The system routes documents to the Bank tab and pulls essential information including bank name, opening/closing balances, and transaction details. Users can export extracted transactions in Xero or QuickBooks format.
- Upload bank statements via web, email, or WhatsApp
- Automatic document type detection and data extraction
- Access extracted data in Bank tab
- Export in connected ledger format
Mark invoices as prepayments
Users can manually designate any invoice as a prepayment from the transaction details page. The system attempts automatic prepayment schedule creation, or provides an empty template if automatic generation isn't possible.
Email content for email-originated transactions
Email content now automatically attaches as a secondary attachment for every transaction originating from email, preserving contextual information not captured in invoices alone.
Company registration name in VAT validation
During transaction processing, Briefcase extracts VAT numbers and validates them against the HMRC database. The system now returns the VAT-registered company name from HMRC alongside validity confirmation.
