Introducing AI Autopilot
Briefcase has launched AI Autopilot, which automatically reviews transactions and publishes those meeting specific criteria without manual intervention.
Autopublish criteria
Transactions are automatically published when they meet three conditions:
- Legible document — Key data points are extracted twice and compared for consistency
- Complete data extraction — All essential fields are captured, including document type, supplier, amounts, and line item details
- Historical consistency — Transaction matches at least 3 previously published similar transactions
How it works
The system extracts critical information twice and validates that results match.
Essential fields must include: document type/reference/dates, existing supplier information, amounts and currency, and per-line-item details with tax rates.
The system identifies semantically similar past transactions. For example, grocery receipts from different retailers are matched together. Autopublish only occurs when sufficient matching evidence exists.
Adaptive learning
The system improves over time: edits to autopublished transactions reduce future similar autopublishes, while unchanged transactions increase likelihood of future automation.
Availability
Users can enable AI Autopilot per client in Business Settings immediately. Beginning September 1st, the feature becomes default-enabled with opt-out capability.
